Airbnb is a large platform with its own guest guarantee and payment handling. CasaLinking is direct booking: you deal with the owner, see the cancellation terms before you pay, and can check the listing's licence and reviews. Neither is better for everyone, so here is how they differ.
| Airbnb | CasaLinking | |
|---|---|---|
| Who you book with | A host, through Airbnb's platform and rules. | The owner or manager directly. CasaLinking connects you and shows the listing's details, licence number and reviews. |
| How you pay | You pay Airbnb, which pays the host after check-in. | Where the owner has switched on online payment, you pay by card through Stripe. Otherwise you agree the payment with the owner. We don't hold your money for you. |
| Fees | Airbnb now charges a single fee to the host (15.5% for most hosts), which hosts often build into their prices. | Owners pay no booking commission, so there is less to build into the price. Online card payments carry a 0.5% payment service fee, paid by the owner. |
| If you cancel | The listing's cancellation policy applies. | The owner's cancellation terms apply and are shown before you pay. A non-refundable rate is labelled as non-refundable, and any refund goes back to your original card. |
| If the owner cancels | Airbnb's AirCover can help you rebook or get a refund. | You get a full refund. |
| If something goes wrong | Airbnb support and its guest protection policies. | Your booking is an agreement between you and the owner, and CasaLinking is not responsible for it. Get in touch and we can help both sides reach a fair solution, at our discretion. |
| Reviews | From guests who booked through Airbnb. | Real reviews imported from Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo, each labelled with where it came from. |
Airbnb details are from its public help pages and were last reviewed in November 2026. They can change.
Yes. CasaLinking is run by Canarias Property Solutions SL from Corralejo, Fuerteventura, Spain. Listings show the owner's licence number where one is required, and we check the numbers we can against the official tourist registers.
Online payments are card payments processed by Stripe, a major payment provider, so your card details are never shared with the owner. Not every owner takes online payment: if you agree to pay in another way, confirm the amount, dates and payment method in writing first, and be careful with bank transfers to someone you haven't spoken to.
You get a full refund. An owner who cancels a confirmed booking does not keep the money. If you haven't heard from us, contact us straight away and we will make sure it is put right.
Each owner sets their own cancellation terms, and you see them before you pay: a non-refundable rate, or free or partly refunded cancellation up to a set number of days before check-in. If a refund is due, it goes back to your original card.
Talk to the owner first, since your booking is an agreement with them. If you can't agree, contact us and we can help both sides reach a fair solution. That help is given at our discretion, and CasaLinking isn't responsible for the stay itself.
We ask hosts for their licence number where a destination requires one and check what we can against the official registers. We don't inspect properties. Reviews from Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo are imported so you can see what past guests said.
