How to verify a property’s tourist licence

In Spain, short-term and vacation rental licensing is handled at the regional (autonomous community) level — not by a single national register. In May 2026, Spain’s Supreme Court annulled the national NRUA registry (Judgment 620/2026), confirming that the regional registries are the real source of truth. Before you book a stay or list a property, we recommend checking the licence number against the official registry for that region.

Short-term rentals in Greece require an AMA registration number issued by AADE (the Greek tax authority). We could not confirm a public consumer-facing lookup tool. If you are booking in Greece, ask the host to provide their AMA number directly so you can confirm it with them before you stay.
